Nick Beim
Nick Beim is a General Partner at Matrix Partners, one of the nation’s leading venture capital firms. He focused primarily on software and online services. In addition to his seat on OAT’s board of directors, Nick also serves on the boards of TheLadders.com, Care.com, the Gilt Groupe, and Mazu Networks. Previous investments he was involved in include JBoss. Prior to Matrix, Nick advised a variety of technology companies on strategic, operational and financial issues at McKinsey & Co and Goldman Sachs & Co.
Beim graduated from Stanford University and holds an M.Phil. from Oxford University, where he was a Marshall Scholar. Nick also serves on the board of Endeavor, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping entrepreneurs in developing countries.
Tom Bogan
Prior to joining OAT, Tom was president and COO of Rational Software, an S&P 500 enterprise software company from 2000 until its sale to IBM in 2003. He previously had served Rational as its COO and general manager of its testing business from 1996 to 2000. Prior to Rational, Tom was president and CEO of two early stage technology companies that focused on networking and peripheral products – Pacific Data Products (1993 to 1996) and Avatar Technologies (1987 to 1993). Before Avatar, his background was in finance and he served as a financial officer in public and private companies as well as positions in public accounting.
Tom is a Venture Partner at Greylock Partners and sits on the boards of ClearForest and Ounce Labs. He also serves as a director of Citrix Systems as well as mValent and is a trustee of Stonehill College. He was previously a director of several public and private companies including eRoom Technologies and Meca Software.
Michael G. George
As CEO of OATSystems, Michael George is responsible for setting the strategic direction and leading the company's growth in the rapidly emerging RFID market.
A well-recognized industry leader, George was most recently the CEO of Bowstreet, a pioneer in web-services, and leading provider of portal based SOA frameworks and pre-packaged composite applications, acquired by IBM in December of 2005. Prior to Bowstreet, George founded Interlynx Technology which became a leading provider of web and voice human resource applications serving the Fortune 500. He directed a successful transformation from a custom development, consulting organization to a leading software products company. Interlynx was acquired by ProAct Technologies in December of 2000. Prior to Interlynx, George was a vice president and officer at TALX where he was instrumental in the company's path to a successful public offering in 1996.
George holds a bachelor's degree from Suffolk University where he now serves on the Board of Trustees, and is a graduate of the prestigious MIT Executive Management Program, Birthing of Giants.
Prasad Putta
Prior to co-founding OAT in 2001, Prasad started Auripay, a company that provided secure, flexible e-commerce payment solutions. He later sold the company to Cyota. Previously, he worked at i2 Technologies implementing supply chain solutions.
Prasad holds a masters degree in mechanical engineering from MIT, and an undergraduate degree from the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras.
Dr. Sanjay Sarma
Sanjay Sarma is credited with defining and developing many of the standards and technologies that form the foundation of the commercial RFID industry. He is a frequent industry speaker and serves on the Board of Governors of EPCGlobal, the worldwide standards body he helped create. Sanjay is also an associate professor of mechanical engineering at MIT. In 1999, he co-founded MIT's Auto-ID Center and has served as its Chairman of Research.
Professor Sarma is a recipient of the National Science Foundation CAREER Award, the Cecil and Ida Green Career Development Chair at MIT, the Ferry Award, the Den Hartog Award for Excellence in Teaching, the Keenan Award for innovations in undergraduate education, the New England Business and Technology Award, the Boston Business Journal Top 40 Executive under 40 Award and was selected to Business Week's 'e.biz 25 Innovators' list. He has over 50 publications in computational geometry, virtual reality, manufacturing, CAD, RFID, security and embedded computing.
Professor Sarma received a Bachelors degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, a Masters degree from Carnegie Mellon University and a Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley.
